Dyrehaven

The largest of Trongården’s green neighbours is a very unique piece of Danish nature which has remained largely untouched for 350 years.

Dyrehaven has it all; ancient oak trees that are left standing until they fall over due to old age, large wild and natural plains with a view of Oresund and large populations of deer that demand space, respect and patience from the 7.5 million guests who visit Dyrehaven every year. The sight of these beautiful animals will always impress you – whether spotting a glimpse of them one at a time, in pairs or when enormous herds cross the open plains. In 2015 Dyrehaven was included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The cozy shopping town

Kongens Lyngby is often referred to as one of the most lively and thriving shopping towns in Denmark. Small cosy streets, alleys and squares lined with specialty shops and trendy shopping turns the town into an atmospheric sweet spot complete with cafes, restaurants, malls, a culture house, cinema and much more.

At the same time, Copenhagen’s vibrant city life is only a short drive away either 15 kilometers by car or 20 minutes by S-train to Copenhagen Central Station.

City of knowledge, education and business

The municipality of Lyngby-Taarbæk  is working towards realising ‘The City of Knowledge strategy’ – which among other things focuses on creating a green city with a vibrant and attractive urban environment. The goals of the strategy are i.a. to make Lyngby-Taarbæk one of the leading cities of knowledge and education in Northern Europe.

The Technical University of Denmark (DTU) is taking the lead on the many educational offers available in Kongens Lyngby. DTU is an elite university with international reach and standards. The many students and teachers have a great need for being able to use the city both now and in the future, for which reason they will benefit from the development of Trongården as a new urban neighbourhood in their local area.
